Waiting

So, we still have about 48 hours or more until we leave the hospital.  We managed a month in Russia, so 4 days in a town in Ohio is not too bad.  We can come and go as we please, so we've been out to lunch and even went to W@lmart.  Exciting, huh?

We also talked a lot with J's family last night.  Our social worker came to the hospital to see J, and then came to see us and the baby.  Her family is just loving the baby's thick head of dark hair (a little spoiler for you).  It is nice to be able to ask them questions about where he got certain features.

They continue to be supportive of J's decision.  They're honest and upfront about everything.  They will probably come by today to hold him and take some pictures.  We told them that they are welcome to come to our room if the baby is there, or take him to J's room.

In regards to the baby, he could use a few prayers.  They think he may have a little reflux.  His stomach was distended and he wasn't digesting all of his formula.  He was doing a lot better for a while, but he's back in the nursery being monitored again.  He doesn't seem too upset by it.  He's just a happy guy.  The pediatrician is coming to examine him again today.

It is weird to not see Nicholas everyday.  This will be the longest he's been away from us.  He may visit us today if it works out.  Thankfully, he's been busy with his soccer game, violin lessons, bike riding, and time with my parents and my sister.

Well, we're trying to cherish the time spent with the baby while we're here, but still hoping time speeds up just a little more.  Sometimes we get a little bored and a little crazy though .

That's where we are right now.  It is hard to believe that as I write this, the baby is just under 29 hours old.  It seems like we've been here much longer.  Hopefully, we'll have some more information to share after we here from the pediatrician.
