So, we had a little update on our adoption today. Originally, our potential birthmother was going to be meeting with a social worker tomorrow (Thursday) to talk about where she is in the decision making process. Well, that happened Monday instead.
Our situation is still a bit of a roller coaster and not really defined. We’re kind of watching this from the background. There is still no match, but some positive things are happening. I cannot go into too much detail on the blog to protect her privacy.
However, our agency asks the potential birthmothers to name a number on a scale of 1-10 to tell where they are in making an adoption plan. She has been at a 5 for the last month. She is now at a 7. She will be having another meeting this coming Monday with the social worker. If that goes well, she wants to meet with Evan and me again. We are hoping that we will be able to ask her more questions at that time.
As crazy as it is, I still have this peace inside of me. I may think about it a lot, but having Nicholas forces me to keep going and to keep busy. Swimming lessons start again next Tuesday. We may sign Nicholas up for soccer. We are busy with church activities. It's a good busy.
Just continue to keep this potential birthmother in your prayers. Pray especially for the meeting on Monday. We want her to have peace about her decision.
Moving onto a little business. . . We have another grant contest coming up on Friday. Friday is a special day. Now, he didn’t come out and say this, but I think Nicholas wants everyone to celebrate his birthday by helping his parents win an Ordinary Hero grant. What else would a five-year-old want? ;) The contest runs from Friday, March 9th until Saturday, March 17th.
There are 2 days until the birthday festivites start. Nicholas is going to be celebrating for three days straight! He’s been counting down for a long time, so I hope he has a great birthday this year!
