Where’s My Camera?

Evan and I have to be the world’s two worst picture takers on this planet. We are trying to document Nicholas’ life, but we still struggle to take a lot of pictures. We are going to have to make a better effort to do so. In my defense, I did take the camera to the hair salon to document his first haircut. I just forgot that the memory card was at home in the computer. Luckily, my sister was there to take a couple of pictures. I do have a couple of pictures we have taken recently. Some are pre-haircut. Then I have one after, but it looks like he is waving off the paparazzi.

Nicholas continues to be doing well in the language department. While he may not be able to say several words, he seems to understand us when we talk to him. We are working on saying, “please” though. He actually said it a couple of times yesterday and today. Of course, he said it in that cute two year old way of “peas”.

We had a couple sets of visitors today. Nicholas usually starts out a little shy, but by the end he seems to warm up to everyone. This afternoon he was able to play with all of his cousins at one time. At first, he just watched. But, he seemed to have no problems sharing his toys. By the end, we were able to get a couple of group pictures. Evan has the full group shot on his camera phone, but I only have a picture of the three youngest. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of pictures of the four cousins together for years to come.

Tomorrow will be a week home. Some days it seems like we’ve been here much longer. It definitely hasn’t been an easy week, but we are all learning a lot about each other. One hug from Nicholas can make me forget that he purposely touches our lamp, printer, television, Gabby, Isabella, and speakers when he knows he is not allowed. But, we love him so much.

Quite honestly I surprised you find time at all! He will definitely be his own person.
