Continued Again . . .

We are continued until tomorrow at 2:30 PM. This continuation appears like a waste of time though because our impression is that there will be a third trip. The "lovely" prosecutor has thrown in another wrench into the process. This one may take a month to clear up. Again, nothing to do with us. In fact, it is completely trivial. It is obvious that she does not have Nicholas' best interest in mind.

We are completely devasted at how this is turning out. Because of the actions of the prosecutor, the judge's hands are tied. Once this other matter is solved, we're good to go. We just can't afford to stay here any longer. So, if all goes as we suspect it will tomorrow, we should be home by the end of the weekend.

We are trying to figure out what God is doing through all of this. We know numerous people are praying and we appreciate it. We don't understand why something so cut and dry, has turned into a mess. We will still be able to adopt Nicholas, but we think we will have to wait out the month at home.

This brings up so many issues, besides leaving our baby behind. We worry about the finances for a third trip. We have already spent three weeks here. How will we pay for three more? The plane tickets alone are so expensive! And, then there is Evan's job. They have been so kind and flexible, allowing him to be gone for a month. What will they think when he has to leave again? And, do I go back to my job for a month? Will they take me back full-time? There are just so many questions and so many fears.

We have one last shot to bring Nicholas home on this trip, but it will take a miracle. We don't know what that miracle is, but . . . please just pray for us. Coming home empty-handed will break our hearts.
