Under the Weather

Daniel has been sick the last couple of days.  We’re not really used to illnesses around here other than the common cold.  We initially thought that he was just teething because he was fussy and had his hands in his mouth.  But, he was awake almost every hour Tuesday night.  I ended up having him lay his head on my stomach and sleep in our bed the entire night.  He was so warm.  We took his temperature and it was 101.  Thankfully, the medicine brought it down.  He would then show us his smile for a brief time before spending the rest of the day whining.

The fever has since left him and now it is more like a cold.  He’s not really hungry and wants to be with me.  He only slept in our bed for a couple of hours last night.  Evan’s work is crazy right now because of the storms and that’s the only way I could appease the screaming baby, so Evan could get some sleep.

We have seen plenty of his smiles today and he’s back to playing.  We’re hoping that he does not share whatever he had with the rest of us.  Of course, if anyone will get it, it will probably be me since we’re joined at the hip.

On a different note, we had a little flashback to Nicholas’ adoption this week.  Our judge in Daniel’s case looked at our paperwork and wanted an updated financial statement and four updated references.  We have a tentative court date that we could lose if we don’t get those in ASAP.  So, we had to contact everyone right away, as well as me updating the financial form with a sick baby whining in the background.   I have to commend my four references.  Each one of you pretty much dropped everything and wrote them.  We’re so thankful for each one of you.  Our attorney will probably have all four of them in his hands by tomorrow or Saturday.  Hopefully, we’ll be able to share that we have an official court date shortly.

Here's some pictures from the worst day of Daniel's sickness although I don't have any where he looked really sick:

You gotta do what you can to make him happy.

The medicine is kicking in.  Nicholas moved away from Daniel when he realized he had rolled closer to him.

Long day for everyone
