This is probably my last monthly update on the 18th
of the month. Daniel is 2! Life has been a little crazier since he’s
kind of a stinker, but he’s still a lot of fun.
He has decided that he is a big boy now. One way in which he is asserting this is by
refusing to sit in his high chair anymore.
He fights me with everything in him, so we now are moving Nicholas out
of the junior chair (it is about time anyway) and Daniel gets his turn with it.
Daniel loves to touch and open everything. I walked away for a moment and found him on my
computer with a mischievous grin on his face.
He likes his toys, but spending time in the kitchen is his favorite part
of the day. There are so many cabinets
and cupboards to open.

He still loves his books.
In fact, one day he spent some time reading to his buddy, Elmo.
This child has some natural athletic ability, which includes
his climbing skills. It doesn't matter
if it is a chair or a couch, or even his dad.
He loves to climb!
He also likes to jump.
I don’t condone jumping on the couch (since it is our only one), but
somehow Daniel and Nicholas have turned it into a sport. They set up the pillows so that Daniel can
jump safely.
Then, in a twist, Nicholas lays down so Daniel can jump on
him. Boys!
Daniel still doesn't have a huge vocabulary, but he has
close to 30 words that others may be able to decipher, including the body
parts, knee and eye. He just added the
word “and” the other day.
We don’t think he fully understands that it is his
birthday. He will hold up 2 fingers (to
the best of his ability) if you ask him his age. We also practiced the “Happy Birthday”
song. But, this is probably the last
birthday where he doesn't understand or care about it.
Daniel is our crazy, fun little 2-year-old. We can’t believe how quickly he’s grown.

We love you, Daniel!
Happy Birthday!
