What a Memory!

Nicholas had his ceremony for CC this past Monday night.  The kids got up and sang most of Ephesians 6.  One of the mothers at our campus put music to the verses, which helped everyone memorize it easier.  Each child also received an award for completing the year.  As they each went up, they were asked to say their favorite memory work from the year.  What did Nicholas choose?  The first law of thermodynamics!  In case you were wondering what that is, it states, “Energy cannot be created or destroyed.”

CC (the nationwide program) also awards any children that can remember 100% of the information.  They have to recite this information to a parent, another adult, and their tutor.  Then, they are spot-checked by the director.  Each testing can take at least 1 ½ hours.  I mentioned in this post that Nicholas tested with his tutor.  Those that could not memorize all the material, but tested were recognized as mini memory masters for their effort.  Nicholas was the youngest child in the mini and came out at 89% of the material memorized.  We are so proud of him.  He worked hard this year.

After the awards were given out they showed a nice slide show.  It not only highlighted the academic side, but all the fun things our campus did this year.  It was fun to look back.

Next year we have at least 4 out of our 7 families returning.  Nicholas’ entire class will be back next year.  Usually, more families sign up in the summer, so we won’t know how big our campus will be for a while.  We’re hoping to get together with some of the CC families throughout the summer.

We miss CC on Mondays, but the school year is really winding down and we are getting ready for summer break.
