Things Are Looking Up

A lot has happened since my last post. First, we received an awesome surprise in our mailbox yesterday. Here is an excerpt from it: "...we are pleased to inform you that you have received an adoption assistance grant in the amount of $3,000." We received a grant from Shaohannah's Hope! This is the organization that Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife started to aid families who want to adopt. If you remember from a few months earlier, his youngest daughter was killed in an accident in their driveway. They started a Maria Miracle Fund in her honor. The last I heard they had already received over $600,000 to help adopting families. We feel very blessed to be one of the recipients of this grant.

And, today we were excited to receive even more good news. We will have our court date scheduled in approximately 2-3 weeks. It looks like we will be heading to Russia next month or early September (this is just a guess). We are so happy that we have some kind of end in sight. It was starting to feel like we'd never get back to Russia.

So, now we are looking to make our lives super organized. We will not know how long we will be gone until the judge tells us. We are looking at 2 1/2-4 weeks! It's time to brush up on our Russian as well. I was too frustrated with the wait to even bother reviewing it.

As you can see, it should be a very exciting few weeks ahead. We may even be surprised with a court date earlier than expected. We can only hope and pray.

We are so glad to here the good news. We are waiting patiently too. We can't wait to see and meet Nicholas.
I think the older the person is the more judemental they are. You did a good job standing up for what you believe in and some times people just need to be brought back to reality. If the world was a perfect place there would be no infertility or children without families and families without children. I will keep praying for the arrival our new nephew.
