Pumpkin Time

Last weekend we decided to go to a pumpkin farm.  This particular farm offered several different activities for the price of admission.  There was something for everyone from hay rides, to corn mazes, to potato sling shots.  My sister came along with us, which worked out pretty well.  Daniel wasn’t up for a long corn maze, so my sister watched him for about 45 minutes while Evan, Nicholas, and I tackled the large corn maze.

Reality . . . Get off of me!

 Getting out of this maze wasn’t the most difficult part.  We could have found our way out a couple of times.  The difficult part was that we had to find six different stamps in six different quadrants of the maze.  They gave us a map in the beginning that we probably should have used.  We found the first three stamps without it.  Finally, after wandering around, we found the final three, just as Amy and Daniel had entered the maze to find us!

Nicholas’ favorite activity was the cars that you could pedal around the track.  He did this activity several times.  Daniel’s favorite activity was using a water pump to move rubber ducks to the opposite side.

We also were able to pick out our pumpkin!  The boys also got some nice little pumpkins to put in their bedrooms.  I got a few to decorate my family room, but my “organizer” (aka Daniel) has already rearranged them.  He loves to organize and he usually responds by saying, “Now that’s better.”

We’re going to carve our pumpkin closer to Halloween.  I’m not sure if we’ll go with a traditional look, or find a pattern off of the internet.  We’ve already purchased the boys’ costumes.  They both seem pretty satisfied with their choices.  

In the meantime, we've got a lot on our plate the next couple of weeks.  I have a feeling the rest of October is going to fly by!
