Four!

The countdown finally ended this past week and Daniel is officially four!  He’s had a pretty good time celebrating this past week.  On his actual birthday, he woke up to the “Happy Birthday” sign and powdered donuts for breakfast.  He quickly wanted to move on to his presents though.  This year he received a new bike helmet, 2 geography puzzles (he loves maps) and a new toy from one of his favorite shows.  Nicholas also got him another Lego garbage truck that he wanted.

He also was able to have a special lunch that day with G.G. and Aunt Amy.  They were nearby, so they brought lunch over.  He also received a fun marble building toy (makes me nostalgic for my childhood), bubbles, and a new scooter.

The next day he was able to celebrate his birthday at preschool.  We brought in cookies for the class.  His teacher also had him decorate a birthday crown and he picked a toy out of the birthday box.  It was the last class birthday celebration of the school year.

We took a couple days off from celebrating before we had his big party yesterday.  We had members from both sides of the family come to our house for our first ever hosting event.  My sister also gifted us with a bounce house from her friend’s business, which made for a lot of happy children (and some adults).  By the end of the day, I had too very content, but tired boys.  Both slept in past 7:00 this morning, which says a lot for those two early birds.

Daniel received a lot of nice gifts yesterday.  I had coached him on saying “thank you” no matter what.  He may have sounded hesitant at times, but the training paid off.

So, that takes care of both boys’ birthdays for the year.  Now it is on to us older people (some a little older than others).  My birthday isn’t so monumental, but Evan’s will be. 

Well, this week is sure to be busy as preschool wraps ups and with other activities and appointments.  We’re looking forward to what is ahead.
